Terms and Conditions

By using this website, submitting a nomination, submitting a performance, voting, or attending the Global Indie Awards, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not participate.

1. About the Awards

The Global Indie Awards (“GIA,” “we,” “us”) is an awards ceremony celebrating independent artists around the world. The 2027 ceremony takes place Sunday, August 15, 2027, in Atlanta, GA, and will be streamed live on IND TV. The venue will be announced on this website.

2. Award Nominations

  • Anyone may nominate an independent artist in any of the 19 award categories listed on the Nominate page.
  • Nominations are submitted through the form at globalindieawards.com/nominate.
  • Nominations close May 31, 2027. Nominations received after that date will not be counted.
  • One nomination per artist, per email address. Duplicate nominations from the same email for the same artist may be removed.
  • Nominees must be independent artists. GIA reserves the right to determine eligibility and to remove any nomination that does not meet these terms.
  • After nomination, GIA may contact the artist to confirm details and collect an approved photo for promotional use.

3. Shortlist and Winners

  • A shortlist of nominees will be announced in June 2027.
  • Winners are decided by real performance numbers. There is no judging panel.
  • The Fan Choice Award is decided entirely by fan vote. Voting rules, including any limits on votes, will be published when voting opens. GIA may disqualify votes that appear fraudulent, automated, or otherwise in violation of these terms.
  • All decisions regarding eligibility, shortlists, and winners are final.

4. Performance Submissions

  • Performance submissions are separate from award nominations. Submitting to perform does not nominate you for an award, and being nominated does not enter you to perform.
  • There is no fee to submit a performance.
  • Performance submissions close March 31, 2027.
  • Artists must be 18 or older, or submit with a parent/guardian’s permission.
  • Artists must own the rights to the material they perform, or have permission to perform it. Artists are responsible for any rights clearances for their performance.
  • Submission does not guarantee selection. Selected artists will be contacted directly; all selection decisions are final.
  • Travel, lodging, and other expenses are the artist’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Awards and Recognition

Awards are honorary recognition, including a trophy and public announcement. No cash prize is promised unless separately announced in writing by GIA for a specific award.

6. Use of Submitted Content

By submitting a nomination, performance, photo, video link, or other material, you grant GIA and IND TV a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your name, likeness, image, and submitted material to promote the Global Indie Awards, including on this website, social media, and IND TV broadcasts. You confirm that you have the right to grant this license.

7. Tickets and Attendance

  • The Get Tickets page collects names and emails to notify interested fans when tickets become available. Joining that list is not a ticket purchase and does not guarantee a ticket.
  • Tickets, when available, are subject to availability, venue rules, and any additional terms shown at purchase.
  • GIA is not responsible for travel, lodging, or other costs incurred in connection with attendance.

8. Changes to the Awards

GIA may change the ceremony date, venue, categories, schedule, rules, or format, including for reasons beyond our control. Material changes will be announced on this website and on @GlobalIndieAwards.

9. Conduct

Participants agree not to submit false information, impersonate another artist, manipulate voting, or interfere with the operation of the awards. GIA may disqualify any participant who violates these terms.

10. Liability

The awards, website, and related content are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, GIA is not liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in, or attendance at, the awards, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

11. Privacy

Information you provide (including names and email addresses) is used to operate the awards — for example, to process nominations, contact nominees and performers, run voting, and send ceremony updates. We do not sell your personal information.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions. The version published on this website at the time of your participation applies to that participation.
