Our Mission
Every year, thousands of independent artists release extraordinary music that the mainstream award shows never notice. The Global Indie Awards were created to change that — a global stage where independent music is the main event, not the afterthought.
We honor creativity and originality across every genre, from hip-hop to gospel, Afrobeat to country, southern soul to electronic. If it’s independent and it’s excellent, it belongs here.
Why Numbers, Not Judges
No judging panel. No politics.
Traditional award shows are decided behind closed doors. Ours are decided by performance — real data, real fan engagement, real impact. The numbers don’t play favorites.
Fans have real power.
Beyond the numbers-based categories, the dedicated Fan Choice Award is voted entirely by fans. And fans nominate the artists in the first place — you’re part of the process from day one.
Independence is the point.
These awards are for artists building outside the major-label machine. No gatekeepers, no pay-to-play — just the music and the people who love it.
